"So this is the statue of Hachiko.."
Most people would have thought that the young girl was crazy. Here she was standing in front of a statue built years before her time marveling at it like a child in a candy store. Her hands clasped over her chest with her camera pressed against her body simply beside herself with the sight before her. A silly smile was on her face as she marked off another experience on her bucket list. The statue symbolized the dog itself, a loyal and friendly creature who was dealt a cruel hand of fate. Reaching a hand up tentatively, she ran her fingers over Hachiko's leg before retracting it in fear that the statue would break even at the slightest touch. Taking a moment to observe it, she then sighed and turned pressing her back to the pillar that it rested on and sinking down to her bum.
The Shibuya nightlife was amazing. There were people of different shapes and sizes everywhere, some carrying shopping bags and others looked like students. There were children with their parents, and elderly people sitting on benches staring at the sky. Turning her head upwards with her arms wrapped around her legs, she couldn't help but marvel at the sight. In Germany, she wasn't able to see the sky because of the intense smog and the fact that there were so many lights. However, she could see the immense amount of stars here and it made her smile widen as she pointed out the constellations to herself making sure to note them all down in her mind.
The summer's heat had cooled down just a bit allowing her to change her outfit from the skimpy bathing suit from earlier. Donning a pair of blue jeans, and a white tanktop with her jacket and satchel firmly in place all of her necessities inside. She took several pictures of Hachiko before stepping back to admire him, the tale of his loyalty to his owner having touched her heart. Although she heard of it only the morning before, she quickly rushed on the next train to Shibuya to see him. Her fingers traced the outline of the camera saddened that the actual Hachiko had died years ago. Though it would have been expected seeing as he wasn't an immortal life form. That would have been silly.
Smiling, she turned the camera off and placed it in her bag before standing to her feet and heading down the steps that led to the statue. Maybe she could find something to do in town, her aunt wouldn't be checking in on her for a little while seeing as she was an 'adult' now. Wandering into the crowd with a hum, she wondered what else the night would bring.
