PHYSIQUE: Sigrun’s body is athletic, but wirey. Her body type is straight. As a result of all this, she comes off as slim. She is 5’10” and weighs 145lbs. She has fairly good posture, which makes her come off as even taller.

Lifestyle:
Runic casting is something all of the Sten family was talented at. However, only her great great aunt Kara was really masterful at it. Most of her other family members just knew a bit about warding. Sigrun would describe Kara as more of a mother than her own mother Eva, but that was mostly corporate lawyer and was hardly around. As a result, most of her tastes come from Kara, and people often call her a little old-fashioned.
When the oddities appeared, Kara was in high demand. Word spread out that she could protect an area from oddities, and people offered pretty good money to ward homes and offices. Kara believed they had a moral duty to do something, and Sigrun didn’t disagree. If she could fend off oddities, wasn’t it necessary to defend those who could not?
These days, Sigrun works as a professional warder. She wanders around from place to place, providing magical protection at an affordable cost. This mostly means handing out flyers and business cards, paying for advertisements, and calling various office or government buildings. However, this is mostly just pay for the costs of her really interest: combating oddities.
She normally lives in extended stay or low budget hotels. However, if there is a high population of oddities in an area, she’ll rent a cheap apartment for a few months to handle what she can.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: It’s a bulky, brown, waterproof messenger bag with black buckle straps. It normally carries more trash than anything useful.

Sigrun is trained in runic casting by her great great aunt Kara. She can read and write all basic ones, and keeps teaching herself new ones. Runes are basically magical words or letters. They will appear if one visualizes them and channels sufficient energy into the visualization. Often times, people will physically write them out to make them stronger. An activated rune will often glow and heat up.

It’s art that requires a lot of mental energy. Runes can be written to achieve a variety of effects. Most common of these are area warding runes. Typically, the more time and energy spent into a rune, the stronger it is. In addition, complexity also increases rune strength. Practitioners will often spend a lot of time trying to find or develop new runes and rune combinations.
Capabilities:
- LEVEL 0: Area warding – Essentially, one can ward a space against an oddity. Normally, these are placed around thresholds to prevent oddities from entering through it. But they are equally effective if place anywhere in a circle on the ground. Passing through them or being encircled by one causes oddities pain and discomfort. It’s no surprise which areas are warded as an oddity can often feel a runic ward’s presence.
