Gift Users

[/b] Gifts are inhuman abilities and traits that are indirectly received due to Oddities, but the character that uses them is not an Oddity.

What Do They do: Gift Users are people that use Gifts. Since most are not aware of Oddities, they come to believe that they are special humans, or even super humans. Most hide their powers.

Alignment: Gift users come from all different sorts of backgrounds. As such there are those that fear their own abilities just as much as there are those that will abuse them.

BEING A GIFT USER.

[/b] A character can receive a Gift by encountering an Oddity, Mimicing a Role in a Story (There is an Oddity mimicing Medusa and you act like Perseus, you could receive a Gift matching Perseus), or Experience a Traumatic or Tragic event.

Gift Versus Gift User: A Gift is a special ability. A Gift User is someone that has a Gift. A Gifted person is a Gift User.

Strengthening a Gift: Gifts develop as a character develops with respect to what led to their receiving the Gift.

Weakening a Gift: A Gift weakens as the character doubts their Gift, their self or their abilities.

Depravity: If a Gift User convinces their self that their Gift is something other than what it is, it will become corrupted. This is usually bad.

Pros: Less limitations on what their abilities can be.

Cons: Less ability diversity. Tend to lose something when they developed their Gift (A personality trait, a skill, a memory, etc.)

TYPES:

[/b] Curses from Oddities that don't turn the character into an Oddity.

Powers - Gifts such as laser eyes, invisibility and weather control.

Presents - Gifts that are part of a group of similar Gifts.

Latent - The character doesn't even realize they have a Gift.
