GIFTS.
DEFINITION. A Gift is a supernatural ability that a person gains after an extreme or traumatic event. They tend to be more narrow than Oddity specialties, but a player has more control over what they can do.
EXTREME AND TRAUMATIC. How extreme? How traumatic? Acquiring a gift means looking beyond the impossible and making something possible. Your character dies, but comes back. A character reaches the bottom of depression and then rises to the top. A traumatic event haunts them so, but they get around it. Most of the time someone will die.
FACTS.
SPECIALTIES. If you haven't read the Specialties guide, then this might not make sense to you. Oddity Specialties reflect the type of Oddity that they are. Vampires suck blood. Ghosts can phase through objects. The Specialties of a person with a Gift will all follow from that Gift. But because a Gift reflects a person or their personality, these can cover a broader area of capabilities.

- A Gifted person cannot become an Oddity. They can have specialties that are Oddities' curses, but they cannot become one.
- Oddities are not attracted to these people.
- Gifts are received under extreme circumstances, and an Oddity cannot be directly involved.
- Gifts reflect a person's lifestyle, a fault of the person or the way that they died.
- Individuals who are close, or who have similar circumstances, tend to receive related or themed gifts.
