THE VEINS OF MY CITY
Regardless of whether or not he was able to understand something, Shin would always try to at least read through a book. It was hard, he could not lie. Having nothing more than the most basic primary school education meant that most things, such as difficult topics about human society bypass his ability to comprehend. Despite that, he found himself in the library of the university campus so that he could try to at least learn something. There was something very calming about the library, the atmosphere of everyone focused on learning a topic was something he did not see every day, and it was refreshing to have. He was struggling with a book on criminal theory. There was just so much based on law and there were a lot of difficult words which confused him. He found himself often browsing through the dictionary in order to understand the words, and it was also difficult to understand english whenever it arose within the book. But from what he had read so far, it was fascinating. How corrupt police actually were, the practices and the problems with the current judicial system. He sipped on a can of Calpis he had snuck into the library. Shin was not a student of Hoshizora, while it would not be too difficult to afford joining with his pay, he would be unable to attend the university based on the lack of fundamental education that he did not possess. The only reason he occasionally entered into the library was because his client was a student, and during her sessions in class he had little better to do than to advance his own learning. He was planning to have lunch soon, seeing as it was almost 12:30 PM. He was going to need some food before he picked Freya up fro her class. |
